Site Director Message
Dr Candida Graham MB ChB, MMedSci, MRCPsych, FHEA, DipPGAcadPract.
Practicing psychiatry in Prince George is an exciting experience, which offers a busy clinical environment to home your clinical skills and clinical confidence. You will be supported by a dedicated site director and a team of 10 psychiatrists and two visiting psychiatrists. The program is actively recruiting psychiatrists aided by the attraction of the new University status of the hospital [University Hospital of Northern British Columbia] and the vision of the Health Authority.
You will have the unique opportunity to help shape the program and will be involved in shaping your own training experience. Opportunities for participation in rural outreach and native mental health initiatives occur throughout the residency years accommodated in Prince George [PGY1-3]. Research opportunities are also positively encouraged within the framework of the Northern Health / University of Northern British Columbia mental health strategy.
With excellent outdoor activities on your doorstep [winter and summer], good restaurants, theater, orchestra, numerous music venues and a welcoming community, Prince George is a place in which you quickly feel at home.
