Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry

The Program of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is an Academic and Clinical Program created in 2007. The Program aims to promote excellence in teaching in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at both clinical and academic levels and to encourage research and participation in other Department based activities. Most members are very active in the training of medical students and residents in various hospital settings, i.e. ICU, CCU, Transplant Psychiatry, Cardiac Psychiatry. Many of our members have been recognized locally and nationally for their excellence in teaching and their contributions to this field. We are closely affiliated with and participate in the Canadian Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine.

Our Program members meet quarterly for an evening Journal Club or Special presentation. We encourage medical students and resident with an interest in this sub-specialized area of Psychiatry to spend elective time with us and we hope to be able to offer Fellowship Training within the next short while.  Our training sites include all the major UBC-affiliated teaching hospitals
