Biography:
Dr. Barry Cooper, R. Psych. received a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University Alberta and a MA and Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Cooper is a scientist-practitioner involved in research and clinical-forensic practice in the areas of forensic assessment (e.g., risk / malingering), psychopathy, investigative interviewing, eyewitness memory, and the evaluation of truthfulness. A former Senior Psychologist for the Correctional Service of Canada, he is currently a Psychologist for the Forensic Psychiatric Services Commission where he serves as a member of the research committee and internship training committee in addition to conducting forensic assessments at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and the Surrey Forensic Clinic. Dr. Cooper is also a Partner and Director of Research and Development for the Forensic Alliance, an organization that provides research, consulting, and training services to various facets of the justice system (www.theforensicalliance.com
). He also has a private practice conducting forensic interviews/assessments and providing expert testimony in relation to his research and clinical-forensic interests.
